New BlueHost Features

I have been relying on BlueHost for almost two years now for my web hosting needs. I received an email today about the additional BlueHost features that customers can now enjoy. Let me share it with you here:

This is an excerpt from an email sent by Bluehost:

NEW FREE FEATURE – BLUEHOST SPAM HAMMER
This new antispam feature is free to all Bluehost users. In our testing of this in-house developed
product we saw dramatic decreases in spam. Because this product is brand new we have labeled
it as still in BETA status. However, we would love for you to test this product out and give it a
try and give us feedback on it. We believe it will eliminate approximately 90%+ of the spam that
currently makes it to your inbox.

FREE FEATURES ADDED IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS:

1) CPU Protection – No longer will a single site on a server impact the performance of other
websites on the same server. This means much improve consistency and higher performance
for 99% of our customers.
2) Memory Protection – No longer can a single user or program consume disproportionate memory
that would cause slowdowns for our customers.
3) Bandwidth Compression – This allows our customers to see a 10-25% decrease in site load
times. This is especially noticeable for customers with slower internet connections. This does
not speed up times of PHP/CGI scripts. For PHP/CGI scripts they will run at the same speed.
4) Process Protection – No longer will a single user be able to spawn runaway processes that
cause the processors/cores to slow down trying to handle all the requests. This is especially
useful when it comes to MySQL usage where sometimes hundreds of thousands of queries
happen in short period of time (5 minutes).
5) Many other changes Too many to list in this email.

Revisiting Entrecard

Due to a lot of policy changes in the recent months, I decided to slow down with my Entrecard activities. I took my dropping very very seriously. But came paid ads and all other changes in the system. Although I did not delete my account, I lessened the time I used to devote to Entrecard.

However, I recently learned that Entrecard had been acquired by another company. The cashout system and paid ads had been eliminated from the system. I personally think that it’s a good move by Ziprunner. A lot of members had been suggesting that for the longest time. Finally, the company listens to the side of the blogger, and not just thinking about their monetary gains. Way to Go EC!

The latest Get-Paid-to-Blog site that I have joined is BlogtoProfit. My blog was approved after a few days and I got a set of assignments from them right away. I completed the reviews last November 19. After that, I received a notification from them on my account that they will be sending the payment to my PayPal account on December 2. I hope they pay on time!

Here are the blog requirements:
-The blog must be at least 3 months old with quality content and updated at least twice per week.

Google AdSense Now Manages Ads in Online Games

Google introduces AdSense for Games. This is an extension of Google’s AdSense program for games played within a user’s browser. According to Google’s Ryan Hayward, “As a beta user of AdSense for Games, you can display video ads, image ads, or text ads within your online games to earn revenue.

Who are eligible to participate in the beta version?

Publishers who have a minimum of 500,000 game plays and 80 percent of their traffic from the U.S. or U.K. are qualified.

However, once the program is implemented, publishers will have control over when an ad is shown either as interstitial frames before a game, after a level change, or when a game is over, according to Google.

So far publishers participating in the beta version include Armor Games, Konami, Mochimedia, Zynga and several others. Marketers include Sony Pictures, Sprint and Esurance.

According to comScore surveys, the number of Internet users playing online games is increasing. More than 25 percent of Internet users worldwide play online games every week, according to comScore.

In-game advertising is expected to boom as more females and teenagers joins the online gaming world. By 2011, worldwide in-game advertising expenditures will grow to $971.3 million, according to a Yankee Group report.
